Why the number 88?
In Nebraska Police Code, “Signal 88” means “situation secure.” 88MED is a sister company of 88 Tactical, which was founded by Shea Degan. Degan has had a career in law enforcement for over 20 years. Just as the name “88 Tactical” speaks to the mission to help individuals develop the skills and confidence they need to handle any situation or crisis, the name “88MED” embodies the mission to empower individuals to find the healthiest and happiest version of themselves.
The Partnership
Shea and his partners decided to team up with one of the best in the business – Dr. Darin Jackson. Dr. Jackson’s formal training in emergency medicine and history of combat service in the Army made him a natural addition to the team. Like Dr. Jackson, Degan became passionate about hormone replacement therapy after first being a patient himself. After discovering the life-improving benefits firsthand, Degan and his 88 Tactical partners set out to serve the community in a new way.

Darin Jackson, MD Medical DirectorDarin Jackson, MD graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1994. He was formally trained in Emergency Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas in 1997. Dr. Jackson served on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1994 – 2005. While serving, he was deployed to both Bosnia and Iraq and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in the combat zone. In 2005, Dr. Jackson returned to his home state of Nebraska and has practiced Emergency Medicine full-time in various hospitals throughout Omaha and Lincoln. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Jackson became passionate about hormone replacement therapy after first being a patient himself. He started receiving testosterone therapy in 2013 and experienced first-hand the quality of life improving benefits. He began to read everything he could get his hands on pertaining to hormones and after much research, he decided a change to his career path was in order. He continues to work in the Emergency Department, but his passion is helping people feel their best through hormone balance and optimization.
As Medical Director of 88 Med in Omaha, Dr. Jackson devotes his practice to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and its integration into holistic wellness programs. He ties hormone therapy to the pillars of optimal health including nutrition, cellular function, detoxification, and immune function to help his patients improve their health and experience a higher quality of life. Kim Perkins CoolSculpting Technician & Phlebotomist
Kim grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to California where she completed the state’s extensive training as a licensed phlebotomy technician. California’s required ongoing continuing education to maintain licensing along with her years of experience provide Prestige Medical patients with the comfort of knowing they have the best-qualified and best-trained phlebotomist at their service.
